Field Manager – Erection & Welding
About the Role
We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Field Manager to lead our on-site welding and fabrication operations. You'll be responsible for managing field crews, ensuring project quality, maintaining safety compliance, and coordinating schedules across multiple job sites. This is a hands-on leadership position essential to maintaining our high standards in structural steel fabrication and installation.
🧰 Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day field operations: supervise welding crews, coordinate tasks, maintain project schedules, and manage quality assurance/control.
Ensure all welding and fabrication activities meet safety standards and relevant codes (AWS, ASME, AISC).
Conduct site visits for quality inspection and troubleshooting and support foremen and welders.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and the shop team to align field efforts with fabrication shop output and delivery goals.
Manage resource allocation, equipment maintenance, and material logistics.
Mentor and develop crew members: training, performance reviews, enforcing safety policies.
Track progress, costs, and time, helping prepare field-related submittals, reporting, and change orders as needed.
✔️ Qualifications
5+ years of welding/fabrication experience with crews and field operations; AWS or ASME certifications preferred.
Proven supervisory leadership: scheduling, coordinating, developing teams.
Strong understanding of welding methods, codes, blueprints, and inspection protocols.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to job sites.
High School diploma required; technical certifications or journeyman/welder background is a plus.
💰 Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Approximately $32/hr (~$67,200/yr), consistent with Orlando field manager rates.
